Juvenile hawk trying to grab hold of the lightening rod atop the parking deck at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield in downtown Little Rock,AR. tater48gem on Flickr: Posted a Photo
As far as we know this was this juvenile hawk's first flight. It was trying to reach it's sibling on top of the parking deck at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Unfortunately it did not make it and fell to the ground injuring (we think breaking) either its leg or hip. A raptor rehabilitator was contacted. The gentleman arrived in the afternoon and was going to take it to the vet for xrays. I am not anticipating a good outcome. I will post and update next week.
Update: The hawk had a fractured leg. The leg was able to be set and will be kept by the raptor rehabilitator for a couple of months and should be able to be released. tater48gem on Flickr: Posted a Photo
